The first round of X Factor auditions on Saturday seem hard to beat.

But Sunday’s show sees its fair share of thrills and spills as brave contestants take to the stage to impress the judges.

First up to face the music will be 51-year-old Eddie Lee from Glasgow.

Hopeful: The show also sees the return of Emily Middlemas, 17, from Glasgow, who got to judges’ houses in 2014 at the age of 15 but didn’t make it any further

Exchanging pleasantries before he starts singing, Simon tells him ‘you are very handsome Edward.’

Wiseguy Eddie replies: ‘Thank you Simon I get mistaken for you all the time’.

He then tells Simon that his lovelife has improved since he began copying the tycoon’s dress sense and Simon returns the compliment by saying ‘you are better looking as you get closer.’

He then performs Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling In Love to kick off the show.

Next up is Finnish hopeful Saara Aalto, 29, who reveals that she has come to the UK X Factor because she has performed lots at other talent shows but she ‘needs help’ to boost her career.

Dramatic: Kittipos Maspun, a 23 year-old student from Thailand, is surprised when Nicole joins his rendition of Memory from Cats

Nicole shocks by saying after her performance of Sia’s Chandelier: ‘You make me want to twerk right now… my a** wants to clap for you.’

Simon says: ‘Let it clap’ before adding to Saara ‘you really hit the big notes, you’ve got soul, maybe you just need a platform.’

The show also sees the return of Emily Middlemas, 17, from Glasgow, who got to judges’ houses in 2014 at the age of 15 but didn’t make it any further.

She sings Stevie Wonder Master Blaster and accompanies herself on the guitar, but whether or not the judges think she is ready to go far this time round remains to be seen.

Sunday’s auditions also feature Nicole Scherzinger singing on stage with one hopeful contestant.

Kittipos Maspun, a 23 year-old student from Thailand, is surprised when the superstar joins his rendition of Memory from Cats.

But is it because she loves his work or because it’s so bad he needs help?

And the show ends with a 40-year-old mum from Staffordshire, Rebekah Ryan.

She previously had a record deal but is now looking to get back in the game with a boost from X Factor.

She initially sings Hozier’s Take Me to Church but then switches to perform Sarah McLachlan’s Angel.
