If you follow Celeste Barber‘s Instagram, in which she often parodies various pictures of various celebrities, you’ll know that her husband often steps in to fill the role of the male celebrity.

Said husband is always complimented by his wife with the hashtag #hothusband.
While many of us would just assume that’s exactly what it was – a compliment – it seems there’s a little more to it than that.
While Celeste is absolutely hilarious – and quite possibly the funniest woman on Instagram – she does deal with some negative feedback.
Most recently, that feedback has not been aimed toward her comedic value, but to her husband’s looks, which she feels completely overshadows hers.
In article written for Daily Life, Celeste told of how she sees herself as someone who is married to a man who is ‘universally hotter’ than her, and she admits it’s ‘harder to live with’ than she originally thought.
She wrote: ‘Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m no dropped pie, but there isn’t a “hot wifey” hashtag hanging around my neck. That’s not to say I don’t get my own compliments from time to time.
‘A nice lady once told me I looked like Ricky Lee Coulter, before she lost all the weight, which is nice. But the phone isn’t ringing off the hook with offers to replace Megan Fox in Transformers 4.’
Celeste feels while she is ‘hilarious’, her husband, who she met 13 years ago, is ‘breathtaking’.
‘I realised early on in our relationship that ground rules needed to be laid,’ she said.
‘I am funny. You are hot. OK? I’m hilarious. You’re breathtaking. I believe this is something that needs to take place in any relationship when the roles are so obvious.’
She added: ‘And it needs to happen early, around the “are you serious about flannelette sheets all year round?” And “do you wee in the shower?” conversations.
‘As nothing is worse than when one party feels they can do a cross over. Much like a model-turned-actor – it seems like a great idea but turns out to be kind of embarrassing and leaves people feeling betrayed.’
While Celeste has always known she has a gorgeous husband, it was a recent conversation that sparked her post, which she titled ‘I have a hot husband and it is harder than I thought’.
Celeste was at a kids party with her family and was sitting next to a well-dressed lady who was looking at her eldest son and husband the same way Celeste was ‘looking at the lolly table.’
The lady complimented Celeste’s son, and called him a ‘looker’. She then went on to say that he was the ‘spitting image of his father’, and that he didn’t look at all like Celeste.
Celeste politely argued: ‘Well, I think there is a little bit of me in him’, to which was dismissed, as the lady replied: ‘You must be happy he chose you to have children with.’
While this comment was rather rude, Celeste – who describes herself as being ‘super funny’ and is a ‘gifted tap dancer’, being the upbeat person she is, decided not to get upset.
Instead, she followed on from the conversation: ‘I like that he makes others feel confident to tell me how lucky I am, I guess I should wear my tap shoes around more and really turn the tables on who’s the “lucky” one.
‘My husband is excellent. If I met him on Kiss Bang Love, I would have kissed him blindfolded and married him on the spot. He’s kind, smart, caring and very, VERY patient.
‘He’s a fun dad and has really thrown his back into tolerating me. I love him with all the wine in the fridge.’
