When told about the stain, she sassily replied: ‘That’s just semen.’

The 47-year-old was also reportedly late to the stage and told the crowd that she had been ‘busy playing with herself’, before admitting she was ‘drunk’ after downing three drinks backstage.

A source tells the newspaper: ‘Claudia did an incredible job at keeping the audience thoroughly entertained during filming…

‘But members of the audience were shocked when she said that a white mark on her dress was semen – no one was expecting her to come out with that.

‘She also dropped several F-bombs and made jokes about how she was drunk. She’s known as an outrageous character but it did catch the crowd of guard.’

Claudia’s eight-year-old, Matilda, was left with severe burns on her leg after the witches outfit she was wearing touched a flame – and the Strictly Come Dancing host has been haunted by the traumatic incident ever since.

Winkleman has now called on parents to make sure that they check the safety and quality of childrens’ costumes, so that other youngsters don’t suffer in the same way.

In a piece for the Sunday Times Style supplement, she asked parents to buy costumes that meet the British nightwear flammability standard.

She wrote: ‘I know it’s annoying to check and it hardly trips off the tongue, but always just ask, they’ll tell you immediately if it has passed.

‘I don’t like Halloween because two years ago it turned out our screams were real. Thanks to the extraordinary NHS everything is now OK.

‘I just don’t want any of you to go through what we did. So, get yourself a witchy costume, but please get a safe one.’
