Recipe is written below. #Veggie #Sausage #Rice #IftarIdeas #RamadanRecipes #SimpleRecipe #StepByStepRecipes #SalmasRecipes Vegetarian Sausage Rice Ingredients: 1full cup basmati rice, use a measuring cup/1 tea mug (cook rice & keep aside) 1 packet Linda McCartney’s veg sausages ( grilled/baked as instructed on the packet then cut it in circles after it is cooked) 2 medium onions (sliced) 3-4 cloves garlic (crushed/chopped small) 2 heaped teaspoon tomato puree Salt to taste 1/4tsp black pepper powder (optional) 1/3tsp curry powder Oil 2-3Tbs Butter 2 -3 knobs ( optional) Method: Cook the sausages as instructed on the pack then cut it in circles and keep aside. Cook the rice and keep aside. In a pan add the oil, once the oil is hot add the onions. Cook the onion on low heat covered, stirring now and then. Cook until the onions are soft. Once the onions are soft add the salt and mix it. Add the garlic and cook 3-4 minutes on low heat, stirring at times. Add the spices 1/4tsp black pepper powder, 1/3tsp curry powder and 2 heaped teaspoon tomato puree. Mix and cook this for five minutes, stirring at times. Now add the sausages, and mix it. Cook this for 5-6 minutes. Add the cooked rice to the pan, give it a good stir making sure the spices coats the rice fully. Let this cook for abit about 5-6 minutes, make sure to stir at times. (If your not adding butter, turn the gas off now) Finally you can add some unsalted butter about 2-3 knobs, and give it a good mix. This will make the rice nice and moist, but this is optional you don’t have to add it. Cook this for 2-3 minutes, or until the butter melts properly and turn the gas off. Once done, serve hot.
