When 19-year-old Kai Johnson returned from a family outing to find smashed glass all over the conservatory, he knew there could only be one culprit – his three-year-old pug, Alfie.
Kai told Metro.co.uk that Alfie had spotted some cat treats up on the conservatory table, and had managed to climb from the windowsill on to a chair before making his way onto the table, where he retrieved the treats.
However, Alfie managed to knock some glasses over in the process, making quite the mess.
Kai told us: ‘Knowing how clumsy pugs are he knocked the glasses over and smashed them.
‘We came back and opened the door to see the glasses smashed. He ran to his bed because he knew he’d done something wrong.’
Kai followed Alfie to his bed – only to find he just couldn’t stay mad at his pug, as Alfie sat in the bed with a face guiltier than we’ve ever seen before.
Amused by Alfie’s face, Kai took a photo and posted it to Twitter with the caption: ‘Have you ever seen a more guilty pug?’
Kai’s tweet received an incredible 65,000 retweets and 213,000 likes – and a huge reaction from people on Twitter who thought Alfie’s guilty face was adorable.
Kai said he’s been absolutely bowled over by the amount of attention his tweet has received – explaining it’d gone from 0-100 in a short space of time.
He said: ‘It’s been pretty crazy because the first 12 hours it had nothing, then it started blowing up!’
Considering Alfie has pretty much made Kai Twitter famous, we doubt he’ll be in trouble for too long.
In fact, we think he deserves a whole box of treats for getting him so many retweets (although we think he’d prefer dog treats over ones meant for cats).
