    She is a vocal powerhouse who has been flaunting a notably slimmer physique in recent weeks.

    And Leona Lewis dazzled as she took to the red carpet in a daring strapless gown at the 40th Kennedy Center Honours at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on Monday.

    The Bleeding Love singer, 32, looked sensational as she posed up a storm, revealing her lithe physique in a stunning strapless navy blue ballgown, with a glittering sequin overlay.

    The gown’s sweetheart neckline flashed a hint of the X Factor winner’s cleavage while a racy thigh-high split showed off Leona’s toned legs.

    Adding the wow factor for the A-list event, the dress featured a waterfall style train which flowed onto the floor and added height with black silk stiletto sandals.

    Her caramel tresses were styled in an elegant half updo while her pretty features were enhanced with metallic eyeshadow, fluttery lashes liner, finished with a slick of fuschia lipgloss.

    Leona was in good company at the event, with the awards considered the top recognition in the country for artists across a variety of fields.

    Singers Lionel Richie and Gloria Estefan, rapper turned actor LL Cool J, producer Norman Lear and dancer Carmen de Lavallade were all honoured at this year’s ceremony.

     The annual event’s importance is usually highlighted by a White House reception with the president and the first lady in attendance.

    However in August President Trump said he and First Lady Melania would not attend so that winner could enjoy it ‘without any political distraction.’

    Leona has previously opened up about her healthy lifestyle in an interview with Women’s Health last year.

    Speaking on her varied exercise regime, she said: ‘I do four hour-long workouts per week – everything from SoulCycle to hiking with my dog.’

    A lifelong vegetarian, Leona eats plenty of whole foods, including kale salads and tofu, and she limits her vices to stay in shape.

     ‘I try to drink plenty of water every day. I always have a bottle with me. It flushes out toxins and keeps my skin clear.

    ‘I stick to three cappuccinos a week and a whisky on the rocks as an occasional vice.’

    Leona has been keeping her fan base updated on her latest happenings via Twitter. Promising new music, she sent out a video of herself in the studio in August.

    Her last musical effort, an album titled I Am, was released in 2015. The Better In Time singer shot to fame after winning series three of The X Factor in 2006. 

    Her victory was heralded as the start of a new era for the talent show, with her second single Bleeding Love topping charts all over the world and getting her three Grammy Nominations.

    Last night saw Rak-Su take the 2017 X Factor crown, becoming the first boyband to win the competition, beating Grace Davies in the final.
