She is more often seen in her nurse overalls as Trixie Franklin in hit BBC period drama Call The Midwife.

But Helen George cut a far more glamorous figure on Monday night, as she dazzled in a pale pink mini dress following her first performance in Love In Idleness.

The actress, 32, stole the spotlight in a quirky crochet frock as she relaxed after wowing the crowds in Trevor Nunn’s revival of the play, at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

The BBC star opted for a playful frilly mini dress as she let her hair down following the new show’s press night.

Cutting off mid-thigh to flash her pins, the frock maintained its sexy vibe with a daring dropped sleeve on one side, to flash plenty of skin and tease at her cleavage.

Pulling into a single shoulder, the sleeves and neckline of the dress then extended out into chunky frills of semi-sheer crochet, making the look incredibly striking.

Cinching in at her slim waist with a satin band, the number then expanded out into a flirty full skirt, secured with a line of buttons to give the outfit a vintage feel.

Adding a hint of glitz to the candy pink look, Helen paired the dress with shimmering silver heels and delicate emerald stud earrings.

Sweeping her blonde hair into a sophisticated up-do, the blonde beauty then drew attention to her naturally pretty features – which she accentuated with a shimmering gold eye and matching pink lip.

The Call The Midwife star certainly showed off her trendy sense of style as she posed for cameras – after cutting a more classically chic figure onstage in the play earlier that evening.

Playing the wife of a politician in the show, Helen had looked incredibly glamorous in a retro white dress, which clung to her slim figure with its wrap around waist.

Transforming fully into her 1940s character, the former Strictly star added a black fascinator to her blonde locks as well as a string of black pearls around her neck as she lapped up the audience’s applause after the first show.

The play, written by Terrence Rattigan in 1944, follows a 17-year-old Michael Brown who returns to wartime London from evacuation in Canada, to discover his mother has become the mistress of a cabinet minister.

Clashing with his political views, tensions soon arise between the men as the youngster attempts to get his mother to decide where her loyalties lie.
