Brie Larson made a point of dressing modestly when she appeared on Lorraine on Thursday morning alongside Samuel L Jackson to talk about Kong: Skull Island.

The Captain Marvel star, 27, wore a blue lace high-neck dress, just a day after her racy low-cut outfit drove Twitter wild when she appeared on pre-watershed programme The One Show.

While she had some leg on show, her cleavage was covered up following the olive green low-cut number which had everyone talking.

Speaking to presenter Christine Lampard, Brie and Samuel described how they had travelled to Vietnam, Hawaii and Australia while making the Kong: Skull Island.

Samuel said: ‘She [Brie] was travelling way more than we were because that was her season of collecting hardware worldwide [during film awards season 2016].

‘So we would go some place and we would go, “where’s Brie?”, “oh she had to go back to LA and get an award”, “oh she had to go to New York and get an award”…’

In demand: Speaking to presenter Christine Lampard, Brie and Samuel described how they had travelled to Vietnam, Hawaii and Australia while making the Kong: Skull Island

Talking about her 2016 Oscar win for the film Room, Brie said: ‘I flew from Vietnam to the Oscars and then flew back to Vietnam at like 6am the morning after the Oscars.’

She continued: ‘It was very confusing because my weeks were like us climbing around on mountains and being extremely dirty, like covered in dirt all day [while filming for Kong: Skull Island].

‘And then on weekends I would get scrubbed down and perhaps go pick up an award and then be back on Monday.

Mixing it up: Brie said it was strange that one minute she was scrabbling around in the dirt while filming and then she would jet home and scrub up for awards ceremonies

‘A lot of the time we didn’t have phone signal or anything so I remember distinctly showing up in Vietnam after the Oscars and just like not being able to contact anyone.

‘II had no cell service [and thinking] “did any of that actually happen, I have no idea”, it was just a blur.’

Christine also asked Brie about the picture of her hugging Emma Stone.

She said: ‘I’m just so proud of her. I’m so grateful that I got the change to hug her that night because it’s pandemonium back there.’

Appearing on The One Show on Wednesday evening, Brie’s choice in attire swiftly became the talk of Twitter.

Appearing alongside her co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L Jackson, Brie sat between the pair of actors in an olive ensemble, which left very little to the imagination where her cleavage was concerned.

The top half of the outfit featured a plunging V-shaped neckline, which accentuated the actress’ pert bust.

As a result, the topics of the latest King Kong blockbuster, Samuel’s penchant for a round of golf and the racially charged Grunwick dispute of 1976 were somewhat overshadowed when it came to viewer commentary.

It seemed to be a divided opinion on social media, as some marveled over the actress, while others sniffed disapprovingly at her.

Others remarked that the men on screen – including host Matt Baker – ‘deserved medals’ for keeping eye contact with the Hollywood actress.

Comparing the scenario to Rita Ora’s appearance two years ago – when the singer caused a stir with uptight viewers who were unimpressed with her decision to wear a plunging trouser suit on The One Show – someone else remarked: ‘That’s definitely more boobage than Rita Ora-gate!’

Then, of course, there was the slew of over-excitable viewers, cheering Brie’s outfit choice on from their sofas.

‘There’s only two things I’m looking at on #theoneshow tonight and I’m not even that way inclined!’ came one tittering tweeter’s post.

Tom, indeed, looked smart for his appearance – The Night Manager star wore a navy blue suit and mahogany loafers for the appearance.

His tie featured a design with bees on it, adding a quirky element to the hunky actor’s refined style.

Samuel looked ready for a round on the fairway, in a red checked top and leather flat cap.

The veteran star – who has a reputation starring in creature features, such as Snakes On A Plane, The Deep Blue Sea and, now, Kong: Skull Island – joined his co-stars in explaining how their current project was a challenge, due to the heavy use of CGI.

The movie is set in 1973, is an origin story for the King Kong franchise – which has been untouched since Peter Jackson re-made the original 1933 film in 2005.

The movie centres around the discovery of an island by a secret organisation.

The group commissions an expedition to the island and discovers that a giant ape named Kong is at the centre of a battle for dominion over it, against creatures named Skullcrawlers – who are responsible for wiping out his kind.

As the expedition crew makes plans to fight for survival against Kong and the other monsters on the island, some of them begin to see that Kong is worth saving.
